John Chase is the Founder and CEO of Capital Place Advisors, a capital formation advisory firm specializing in serving the unique capital requirements of high caliber emerging private equity firms, including fund, transaction and general partnership.
Mr. Chase has 20 years of private equity capital advisory experience. Previously Mr. Chase served as a Managing Director for Hodes Weill & Associates, a global capital advisory firm specializing in real estate, infrastructure and real assets. Before that, Mr. Chase was a Partner and Management Committee member for Atlantic-Pacific Capital, a global placement agent raising capital for buyout, growth/venture, special situations, private credit and real asset funds, direct transactions and secondaries.
Previously, Mr. Chase was an equity research analyst with Lazard Asset Management where he led investments in emerging market private equity, conglomerates and closed-end funds. Prior to joining Lazard, Mr. Chase was a turnaround management consultant at TRG (“The Recovery Group,” now part of Deloitte) where he supported financial restructurings of lower mid-market businesses. While at TRG, Mr. Chase was seconded to Arthur D. Little to serve on Post-Privatization Enterprise Rehabilitation tasks for the USAID and World Bank, serving in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
Mr. Chase holds a Master of Public Administration from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, a Master of Business Administration from the Lally School of Business at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Bachelor of Arts from St. Anselm College. While a student at the Lally School, Mr. Chase founded the Eastern European Business Development Center to support the Kiev Business Incubator and several technology startups including most notably the Kiev Software Factory.
A proud native of New England, Mr. Chase lives with his wife and family on the Jersey Shore.
